Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game – AD sent for review and giveaway

As you all know, my son is a huge fan of How to Train Your Dragon, both the books and the films.  We got to see the new How to Train your Dragon: The Hidden World film recently and it was a big hit here.  So when we were asked if we’d like to try out the new Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game, we jumped at the chance.

Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game

Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.  We’ve been trying the digital download version for Nintendo Switch.

Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game

The game is aimed at players aged between 5-12 years of age, and any fan of the films is going to love enjoying getting to grips with the challenges within the game play.

My son was a little surprised to not be playing as Hiccup or Toothless, but he soon got to enjoy learning about Scribbler and the chimeragon dragon called Patch.

The island of Havenholme is in ruins and Scribbler and Patch are called up on to save the day as they explore new islands and battle new enemies along the way.

The game play features include unlocking powerful abilities such as Scribbler being able to attack his enemies with an axe and sword.  As the game progresses players help Scribbler recover his memory and we watch the friendship between him and Patch grow.

There are battles to be waged and puzzles to solve and plenty of action in Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game.

The story behind the game is set somewhere between the second and third How to Train Your Dragon film.  the two new heroes of the game are on a mission to ensure that dragons remain free.  You can play as either of the two characters by pressing L on the controller and then make use of their different abilities.

As play progresses the characters add armoury and skills and you have access to ice, fire and electric powers.  The complexity of the various puzzles increase too as you journey through the Dragons: Dawn of New Riders game, and it’s certainly kept my son entertained. It’s been a hit here.
