When I was at Toy Fair at the beginning of the year I got to see a number of toys and games that would be released in the run up to Christmas. Greedy Granny from Tomy is one such game, and it’s a lot of fun and easy to play.
Greedy Granny is aimed at children aged 5 years and over and can be played with 2-4 players. The game comes with a 2 piece Greedy Granny which needs assembling (simply click into place), a spinner, a set of teeth, and 12 coloured biscuit play pieces.
I was concerned that once Granny was assembled, she’d no longer fit in the box after playing the game. But if you push her into the reclining position, she does, so all good. You might be able to pull Granny apart, but I haven’t been able to.
The aim of the game is to be the first player to collect one of each type of biscuit without waking Granny.
Set the game up by fitting Granny’s dentures in place and pushing her back into a reclining position and watch her fall asleep.
Now load the biscuits onto the tray and you are ready to start the game.
Greedy Granny is so simple to play, kids pick it up easily. It’s fun and fast and perfect for some after school fun. If you spin and land on green, you take a biscuit from the tray and press the purple button on Granny’s chair the number of times shown.
If you’re lucky Granny will remain snoozing and play passes to the next player. If you spin and land on purple, you have to put a biscuit back on the tray and press the button the number of times shown. If you land on the Ø sign, you miss a go and play passes on.
If you wake Granny up from her slumber, that player has to put her teeth back in, send her back to sleep and place their biscuits back on the tray, and play continues.
You can get a good idea of game play with this video.
Monkey has loved playing Greedy Granny, and seeing if he can beat me to grab the biscuits before Granny wakes up. Although I think for him, he’s as excited if he’s the one who wakes Granny up.
I’m always a fan of games that don’t need batteries. This one is well made and so easy for children to enjoy. With Christmas fast approaching I can recommend Greedy Granny for some good old-fashioned family entertainment.

This does look like great fun, and one I know my boy would have loved when smaller. Great that it doesn’t need batteries, perfect for Christmas gifts.
Can greedy granny come apart so i can put her back in the box? I dont want to break it.
It fits in fine without taking it totally apart, just have her reclined
