Since Monkey got his Micro Scooter for his birthday last year, his confidence has soared. He just loves his wheels. When I visited Toy Fair in January I came across Handlebar Heroes and decided it was time to Pimp Monkey’s Ride!
Each pack comes with easy to follow instructions and all the fixings you will need to create your Handlebar Hero.
It really is easy to put the kit together, but there are also full instruction videos available here for the whole range. Most connections are popper fasteners so that you can easily remove Handlebar Heroes and put on different scooters etc. The eyes however, use snap fasteners so they stay secure once fixed, great if you have younger children around.
It took me a matter of minutes to assemble the Handlebar Heroes kit and fix Monkey’s new steed to his scooter. Then I was off to surprise him at Nursery School!
Monkey came running out – Horsey! Horsery! Mummy I love him. To be fair, I think all of the kids fell in love with Monkey’s new friend.
By the time we got home Lancetrot had been re-named. He is now called Harry and he has a purpose-built stables under the stairs.
For £9.95 I really think these are a bargain. We’ll be ordering a dragon as soon as they are released. They fit just as easily on bikes! This could be the first Police Dragon.
As well as the standard Handlebar Heroes, there are a range of Mini Heroes which can also be fixed to scooters, bikes and bags – these are priced at £3.50 and are constructed in the same way as their larger cousins.
I am so pleased I discovered Handlebar Heroes during the Toy Fair, we really do recommend them.

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
These look great, and a fab price too! Shame E is a bit past this age – I will have to wait until F gets a scooter!
Yes, I bet she’ll love the Unicorn when she’s a bit bigger.
These look great, Miss M has something similar on her scooter and it always does get lots of attention. Great that they can fit on bikes or scooters.
We really love it, Harry has become a star at school.
I love Monkey’s reaction to Horsey! 🙂 So cute! x
He really loves it, I’ve been waiting for Monkey to start trying to feed him!!
We love our Handlebar Hero and he is a talking point wherever we go. I am quite taken with the dragons too.
Same here, all the kids love him, and I think the Mum’s are rather taken too
These look brilliant. We don’t have a micro scooter but if they fit on other models, I’d definitely buy one
They fit on any model and on bikes to Angela – can thoroughly recommend.
These were one of the stand out items at the toy fair for me, Of course I would love a dragon, but I am not sure the boy would want me to have one on my bike. He might disown me!!
I want one too!! I know, they really did stand out as a fab accessory
