Having fun with Meadow Kids – a review

Having fun with Meadow Kids

I have to thank Donna at Redhead Babyled for introducing me to Meadow Kids and their lovely range of toys and books aimed at pre-schoolers and key stage 1 children.  Their manta – learn and play.  So Monkey has been having fun with Meadow Kids recently.

We received the Stencils and Pencils for All set and the Mix and Match Characters Bath Stickers.  Both products are aimed at children aged 3 years and over, so perfect for Monkey aged 4 and half.

I was interested to see what Monkey would make of the Stencils and Pencils for All set. The set consists of a plastic wrap-over storage bag, pencils with character erasers, 20 sheets of drawing paper and 6 stencils.  Monkey hasn’t really used stencils before, and is still a scribbler.  He actually took to it very well.

The results weren’t perfect, but he concentrated and was having fun with Meadow Kids. Monkey would have liked to see coloured pencils included with the set, rather than normal pencils, but that was soon remedied.  The stencils are well made and the themes varied – space, circus, wild animals, letters and symbols, sea life and shapes.  The space themed stencil has been a big hit.  We’ve had lots of discussions about the contents of each stencil, and it will be interesting to watch what Monkey creates with them over the coming months.

Next up were the Mix and Match Characters Bath Stickers.  This set features 27 mix and match characters which will float in water and can be stuck to the side of the bath.

The pieces are made of a foam type of material.  Monkey loves this set.  He’s played with it in the house, in the paddling pool and in the bath.  We’ve made up stories with the different characters.  At the moment he likes to match them all correctly – head, body and legs.  I’m sure in time he will discover that it’s just as fun to come up with weird and wacky combinations.

When play time is over the Bath Stickers all fit into a clear plastic bag for storage.  The stickers wipe clean and seem really durable.  The colours are great and the selection of characters works well.  Meadow Kids sell a number of different Bath Sticker sets – the Funny Faces looks like a great set too.

We’ve both been really impressed with Meadow Kids.

disclaimer: we were sent these items in exchange for an honest review

Over 40 and a Mum to One

A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure.
