disclosure: we were sent the item mentioned for the purpose of review
My passport has been gathering dust over the last twelve months and like so many of us, we had one trip abroad cancelled after another last year. But there is some light at the end of the tunnel now for brighter days ahead. We were recently sent a copy of the newly published Hidden Beaches SPAIN book and it’s given me a glimpse of sunshine, secret beaches and discoveries that might lie ahead.
As many of you know, my parents have lived in Southern Spain for sixteen years now, and it’s a country we really haven’t even scratched the surface of exploring. They live inland and often the only glimpse of the sea we get on our visits is as the aeroplane makes its approach into the airport. Having had our wings clipped I’m missing sea breezes and sand beneath my toes and reading Hidden Beaches SPAIN has given me an appetite to venture back along the coast again in the future.
Hidden Beaches SPAIN features 450 secret beaches both on mainland Spain as well as the Balearic Islands. The book is the result of years of explorations by the authors Lola Culsán and John Weller and is full of information for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly beach or are wilderness lovers looking for somewhere far from the madding crowds, there is a beach for all contained within the 288 pages of this beautiful book.
The beaches are organised by 17 different mainland and island regions and provide information on accessibility, parking, length of walk to reach each beach and what sort of activities can be enjoyed once there including snorkelling, kayaking and diving.
Each section includes a map of the area where each beach is numbered for easy reference too and the details for each one include map coordinates which can be entered into a GPS system/Google Maps and the like.
I can’t wait to be able to travel once more and Hidden Beaches SPAIN has reminded me of our previous visit to Roses and L’Estartit on the Nort Eastern coast of Spain on the Costa Brava which is another area we have always been meaning to revisit and explore in more detail.
If you fancy learning more about Spanish beaches that aren’t so well known, that take a little more effort to discover than I can definitely recommend purchasing a copy of Hidden Beaches SPAIN and I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below (I( do earn from qualifying purchases).
