As you all are well aware I have a massive Cressida Cowell fan in the house here and we are super excited to be going to a special preview showing of How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World on Saturday down in London. But that’s not all we are excited about, today sees the publication on the latest augmented reality book from Carlton Books and it’s all about How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. You can imagine my son’s delight when I showed him this book can’t you.
The 32 page hardback book is a must for any fan of Hiccup and Toothless, and a great introduction to the How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World film which is released next month. Aimed at children aged six years and over, my son has been captivated by the new book written by Emily Stead.
In How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World the augmented reality book from Carlton Books we see Hiccup, his friends and their dragons leaving Berk as they are chased down by dragon hunters. They are in search of the legendary hidden world that Hiccup was told about by his father, the now deceased Stoick the Vast. The find a new home in New Berk, a land of waterfalls and towering mountains.
As well as including illustrations and scenes from the new film and the well known television series, the book includes facts about our favourite characters and their dragons.
As well as introducing us to new characters such as the Light Fury. The new dragon soon becomes friends with Toothless and he watches on in awe as she makes herself invisible.
We also meet Grimmel the dragon hunter and the Deathgripper dragons, not quite so friendly as the dragons we know and love.
Although we’ve read all the original books and seen the two previous films, this book works just as well for new fans.
As well as the storybook you also have the augmented reality element of the How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World book as you can make use of the free app Dreamworks Dragons AR to bring five different dragons and their riders to life.
The app is easy to use, and you can fly the various dragons around your room, video the action and also take still photos which you can download.
You can find out more about this and other Carlton Books on their website, as well as ordering a copy of this book too.
