Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard

Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard – AD sent for review and giveaway

disclosure:  we were sent the item mentioned in this post for the purpose of review and hosting a giveaway

Having a reluctant reader in the house has been even more challenging over the last four months with school being closed.  But I won’t give up the quest of showing him that reading can be fun.  We were recently sent the newly released Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard by Nicola J Rowley which is aimed at children aged 7-12 years.

Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard

Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard is told through the eyes of 12-year-old Minty Taylor and shows readers how important it is to communicate effectively and to respond to situations they find themselves in.  Seems rather apt in the current climate.

Imagine the adventures you would have, if, like Minty, you discovered a magic ten-sided copper coin that could conjure up a wizard and his cat!  That’s exactly what happened to Minty when she unwittingly found the Bonheur, when she found and treasured this little piece of treasure, which brought Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard and Cupro Blue the cat, to her side.

Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard

When the wizard starts to dance amazing things happen and Minty soon learns that she must help him on his mission to thwart the evil wizard Grimacant when children from her school start to go missing.

The story builds and the characters are colourful which helps to bring the story to life and took us on a magical journey as we read Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard together.  It’s beautifully written and the themes of bravery, courage and leadership are weaved throughout the pages.  We’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading this book together and I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below (I do earn from qualifying purchases) in case you’d like to take your children on a magical journey too.

  1. They said they would like to fly around the world and go to DisneyWorld (a bit of a hint to me there!)

    1. The magical fairy world in our localcounrty park-sure they are there waiting for us to see them

  2. I am sure they would love to perch on a magical broomstick and fly their schoos and make some mischief for their teachers!

    1. They’d love to visit Disney land with a wizard to get rid of all the queues they said. I’d like a wizard to magic me up the money to go there in the first place!

    1. At the moment his favourite wizard is Harry Potter so he’d probably like to go on an adventure to destroy Voldermort!

  3. A road trip to visit every corner of Ireland and visit all the castles and sights to recreate them in their home!

  4. Most likely :- Travels and adventures. Time traveling would perhaps be on their to – do list.

  5. Hello, I don’t actually have children but if it was me then I would love to visit the moon with a wizard. Thank you for the chance to win.

  6. I think my great nephew would love to go find unicorns with a wizard. He loves animals and horses are a favourite so to see a unicorn would be awesome!

  7. i am sure it would involve chocolate and ducks and definitely BISCUITS! maybe he woul turn the ducks into chocolate and make the biscuits fly and dance around

  8. Knowing my granddaughter she’d want to go to Lapland to see where Santa lives and to give him her Christmas list that she’s already written. She’s very worried that he won’t be able to come this year although we keep reassuring her that he will
