This term at school the theme is sports, to tie in with the Euro Football competition, Wimbledon and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games which will take place between 5th-21st August this summer. I love watching the various disciplines in the Olympic Games and it doesn’t seem possible that it’s 4 years since Monkey and I got to see the Olympic Torch running through our town. The team at Usborne have released The Olympic Games Sticker Book and Monkey’s been using it to learn all about this great sporting occasion.
The Olympic Games Sticker book is aimed at children aged 7 years and over and is crammed full of useful information relating to the history of the Games, the various venues and sports involved.
The Paralympic Games are also included as well facts relating to the medals, mascots and various achievements.
Add in 100 colourful stickers and you’ve guaranteed that Monkey will be quiet for a few minutes!
He’s been learning all about Usain Bolt, cycling and fencing since receiving The Olympic Games Sticker book and I shared stories of when I helped supply emergency lighting for the Lillehammer Winter Olympics back in 1994.
The book is great for children to enjoy before the Olympics start, as well as through the various sporting events that will be taking place during the weeks ahead. Priced at £7.99 it gets a gold medal in this household.
Usborne always provide wonderful educational books and you can view the whole range on their website. They have other Olympics Games books there too.

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
Such a lovely idea! I need to do some work this summer with my kids about the Olympics.
