Monkey has been a fan on Alice Hemmings for a while, having discovered a few of her picture books, so we were eager to read Rickety Rocket together. This Junior Fiction paperback book will be published through Maverick Arts Publishing in October 2016.
We get to meet Spacey Stacey who lives on Planet Fiveways and follow her and her friends on three different adventures in this 125 page book.
Stacey works at the Space Place Cafe and makes a very good jelly by all accounts. In Rickety Rocket, Stacey’s friends try to help her by modifying her Rickety Rocket to help her take part in the Great Space Chase. Although she isn’t so keen on their work, including the bright violet colour, she appreciates the work her friends put into the project. She was definitely not the favourite to win, but she was determined and kept her focus. Unlike others in the race.
In Jetpack Jelly, Spacey Stacey and her friends have planned a trip to Picnic Planet, but she’s up to her neck in jelly deliveries. Can her friends help?
Rickety Rocket is a funny book, that Monkey has really enjoyed me reading to him. Aimed at children aged 6-9 years, it gets a big thumbs up here and I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for your reference in case you’d like to pre-order a copy.
