Salter Shiatsu Neck Shoulder Massager

Salter Shiatsu Neck Shoulder Massager

If you read my post recently about my ideas for rearranging my work space you will know that I’ve been suffering with pains in my neck and shoulder. It’s something that I’m really aware I can’t continue to ignore and when The Blogger Programme asked if I’d like to try a Salter Massage product I knew which one I was interested in.   I received the Salter Shiatsu Neck Shoulder Massager and have been putting it to the test over the last couple of weeks.

The Salter Shiatsu Neck Shoulder Massager is a bit bulkier than I’d envisaged but if it helps to relieve the tension in my neck and shoulders I will easily live with that.  It comes with a 3 year manufacturers guarantee, which is always nice to know.

You receive the Salter Shiatsu Neck Shoulder Massager itself along with the 220/240V power lead and an instruction pamphlet.  Put the massager around your neck, put each arm through the relevant arm sling,

plug the power lead into the connector in the left arm slings, and turn the power on to start your massage.

The button with waves is the Heat Controller so that you can decide whether or not to have the soothing heat effect as you are being massaged.  The massage nodes on the Salter Shiatsu Neck Shoulder Massager light up in red when they are on.

I didn’t find the heat too hot at all, and have only used the massager with them on so far.  You can also adjust the speed control with the bottom button on the pad.  The massager starts its programme at the highest speed setting, which I’ve found a bit too intense as a starting point.

So far each massage I’ve had has been on the middle speed setting, this still gives me a really good massage and I’ve felt happy with that pressure.  Each massage lasts for a maximum of 15 minutes.  You can end your massage at any time by pressing the power button off, but it has an auto shut off when it’s been running for 15 minutes.  You should always remember to switch it off fully when not in use though.

Even after the first use I felt a distinct difference in my neck and have been using this product every other day since it arrived.  I’m really impressed with it.  I’ve chosen to use it whilst sitting on my bed, making myself chill out at the same time.  You could use it whilst sitting at a desk as long as you have access to a power point.

I’ve liked the fact that I can use the arm slings to adjust the position of the massager so my shoulders get a bit of pampering too.  I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve also seen that you can wrap the massager around your lower back and hold your arms out in the sling.  I can see this option being useful when my back gets stiff again.

You really do feel that you are receiving a proper massage and that your muscles are being kneaded and it’s a thoroughly enjoyable experience.  The product is quite bulky though as I’ve mentioned before which can be an issue with storage, and it take a little getting used to when wearing it, but once in place and the massage starts you soon get comfortable.  It would be great if the power cord was longer, it would certainly give me more options of where I can use it.
