Saving memories with My Picture UK

Saving memories with My Picture.co.uk – AD sent for review and giveaway

disclosure:  we were sent the items mentioned for review and I have been compensated for this post

As you all know, I am a prolific photographer.  I rarely go anywhere without either my phone or camera, and I love to capture moments from all of our adventures.  In this digital age, I’m not so good at actually printing pictures out but I do like to turn favourite photographs of my son into canvas prints.

Saving memories with My Picture UK

I’ve recently been saving memories with My Picture.co.uk when I was asked if I’d like to put one of my favourite shots from the year onto canvas.  I finally decided on a shot of my son I took from our trip to Painswick Rococo Garden back in February.  My son, red coat, stick in hand, kind of his signature look isn’t it?

The ordering process is really easy with My Picture.co.uk, and they have all sorts of photo gift options, but I knew exactly what I was looking for as I wanted to replace an older canvas I have on our living room wall.  So I opted for a 60×40 cm option (sizes range from 20×20 cm through to 120×80 cm).  All of the canvases are heavily discounted so instead of £49.99 the basic canvas print would cost £22.00.  You can zoom in on your photo image if you so wish, and add text if required too.

There are two options for frame thickness – 2cm is the standard size, but like me, you can upgrade to the 4 cm XXL size for an additional £5.00.

For this particular canvas I opted for a stretched edge, but you could decide on a white or black, mirrored or folded edge instead.

When saving memories with My Picture.co.uk you can also arrange for your canvas to be framed, there are various frame colour options available at an additional charge.  You could also opt to have your photograph converted to a black and white canvas if you so wished.  I did add the £3.00 hanger set to go with my canvas, which comes with a cord, hanging hooks, nails and screw fixings.  If your order is over £45.00 then UK shipping is provided free of charge.  For my order, the shipping cost would be £5.00.

Delivery was prompt and my new canvas was well packaged.  I was a little concerned that the discounted pricing would mean my canvas wouldn’t be such good quality, but I really needn’t have worried.  The photographic reproduction is good and we’re all really pleased with the final result.  Even the subject approves!

As it’s becoming more and more apparent that we should all be wearing masks in shops (and in my opinion any indoor environment where social distancing can’t be kept to two metres) I wanted to make the idea a little easier for my son to cope with.  A personalised face mask seemed like a good idea and when I spotted the range that My Picture.co.uk have I knew they’d work well for us.

The PREMIUM CUSTOMASK® face masks are suitable for anyone aged 6 years and over and feature elastic earloops. They are made of antibacterial material and are suitable for washing at 60 degrees C, they are not medical grade. They also come with a flexible metal nosepiece which I’ve found really useful as a glasses wearer – I’ve not experienced any fogging when wearing my mask.

You can either upload your own photo or pick from one of the pre-set patterns or designs to create your mask.  For my son we decided on a photo of his cat Paddington, the OH liked the Union Jack design and I couldn’t decide on which photo to upload so I settled on a graduated pattern of pinks and blues which I figured would go with pretty much anything I wear.

We’ve all found the masks comfortable to wear and they’ve washed well.  I’ve placed them inside a net laundry bag before putting inside the washing machine just in case the plastic adjuster ring on the straps come loose, but so far so good on that score.

I also have a 10% reader discount code to share with you all which is valid against all products on the My Picture.co.uk website – use code OVER40MUMTOONE10.
