Staying safe this summer

Staying safe this summer

I’m sharing a couple of products with you today very much with summer holidays in mind. Staying safe this summer from mosquitoes and those harmful UV rays couldn’t be easier.

I don’t know about you but mosquitoes love me and I can still recall the vicious assault they made on me between the airport and hotel in Cuba many years ago! I’m certainly not keen for them to get a taste for Monkey’s blood, so we will be making good use of these Mosquitan Mosquito patches.

Mosquitan

We received the family pack of Mosquitan which contains 48 adhesive 2cm² patches to keep us safe from those blood sucking mozzies this summer.  In fact I have a feeling my Mum might be using them too when we meet up with her and my Dad next month in Portugal.  They rather like her too! The patches are safe for all the family to use and are DEET-free, offering up to 6 hours protection.

You can apply the patch to skin, clothing and even furniture (sun loungers etc).  Once applied you press the uppermost surface to release the micro capsules of essential oils – Citronella and Eucalyptus.  The oils can’t reach our skin due to the non permeable adhesive layer.  I love the smell of eucalyptus and haven’t found these patches at all overwhelming.  I’m certainly looking forward to using them as a family defence against mosquitoes this summer.

I’m a firm believer in practicing what I preach when it comes to protecting skin during the warmer months.  Monkey has been well-drilled and knows he isn’t to leave home without SPF50 protection and I’ll be staying safe this summer with ERiiS for Sun and their SPF50+ Latte Solare.

ERiis for Sun have a range of sun care solutions containing triple protection.  Not only does it protect against UVA and UVB but it also protects from Infrared-A. The bottle comes with a pump, which makes it easier to use when we’re out and about and means we don’t get any wastage.  The lotion is quite runny, but applies well and absorbs quickly, leaving no residue.  It smells rather nice too!

I’ve only had the opportunity to try this sun lotion out over that wonderful weekend we had recently so far.  But I’ve been really impressed with it and will be making full use of it when we’re in Portugal.  I’m reliably informed that the ingredients hydrate the skin and ensure an even tan.  It should also help guard against premature aging, let’s face it, I need all the help I can get on that score! It’s also worth noting for those with more sensitive skin that ERiiS for Sun is paraben and allergen free.

Both the products featured are available from the Vie Heathcare website. A 24 pack of Mosquitan is available for £7.95 and the ERiiS for Sun range costs from £14.95.  Great products for staying safe this summer.

disclosure:  we were sent the items mentioned in exchange for an honest review

  1. i saw an article about why some people get bitten more than others and it comes down to blood group type, although i don’t fit that particular theory, my mother, sister and husband are all O reh – and get badly bitten all the time, suffer with swellings and infections. I have the same blood group and rarely get bitten and when i do i have no effects and rarely notice until i see the bite. We use repellents and after bite lotions from the UK pound shops, we stock up when we visit the uk for hubby as he can’t step outside without being bitten

  2. Really interesting patches, and like you I do get bitten quite a bit my the mosquitoes and have to take anti histamines to prevent them ballooning. I hadn’t seen these patches before but I’ll go and investigate some more
Enjoy your holiday – I bet you can’t wait!
