We’re thrilled to be working with GORE-TEX this year with their Big Days 2015 campaign and Monkey took delivery of some rather lovely shoes just in time for the summer holidays. He’ll be stepping into summer with GORE-TEX Big Days.
The colour was a big hit before we’d even tried these lovely Superfit Combi shoes on. We’ve used GORE-TEX in Winter Boots before, but this was our first experience with lighter weight shoes. Apparently the GORE-TEX Surround Sole ensures that the foot is kept cool and dry, even in warmer weather.
Well its fair to say we haven’t had scorching temperatures so far this summer, but that hasn’t stopped Monkey and I getting out and about.
He’s been stepping into summer with GORE-TEX Big Days, and having all sorts of adventures. The shoes fit well, with adjustable velcro straps and offer an active 5 year old good support, with no signs of rubbing.
From scooting, to shopping, walking round the grounds of Stately Homes, butterfly watching, waiting for a train, running around in circles, walking around a zoo, Monkey has put his new shoes through their paces. They’ve even been with him when he’s been carrying sticks.
We’ve both been really impressed with these shoes. For Monkey to pick them up as his first port of call over his sandals means they are a big hit with him.
We’ve walked miles over the last few weeks on our various adventures and Monkey hasn’t complained about his feet at all. I was worried that the suede surrounds would get worn easily, but so far so good. This is the first pair of shoes Monkey has ever had that haven’t been measured and fitted in-store, so I was a little apprehensive. Would the sizing be ok, would they fit well, would they be comfortable? But I really had nothing to worry about. They’ve surpassed my expectations.
I’ll be coming back to you all in September with a further update. But in the meantime, you’re bound to spot Monkey and his shoes in my photographs both here and on Instagram over the coming weeks.
disclaimer: we have been sent the shoes mentioned in exchange for an honest review

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
Thees look perfect summer shoes, and its always much easier if your child likes them. Mine lives in crocs and its so hard to get him out of them sometimes even when it rains and his feet get wet!
They are great and have been used all the time since they arrived.

We’ve just bought Superfit school shoes…typically N said they were the better fit and most comfortable…and the most expensive. I was horrified, but just hoping he remembers that they’ll be his indoor school shoes, and that he needs to change to trainers or wellies for outdoors. I’m hoping that means they won’t get wrecked as quickly.
These blue ones look great, super modern sole.
Good luck with that one. Monkey had wellies all year at school but still managed to ruin two pairs of school shoes.
