Warmer days are here at last and we have a few adventures planned in the months ahead and I’m going to be summer ready with Trekmates Flare Cap. Not only is it great for keeping the sun off, but the cap is also made from midge and mosquito-repellent fabric too!
I had no idea that you could even buy caps with this kind of protection so I was eager to learn more, especially as I have the kind of blood that insects just love. Trekmates have a whole range of hats with UVA protection that also offer protection from midges and mosquitos. So whether you’re looking for a wide-brimmed hat, one with a legionnaires style flap or a peaked cap, they have all bases covered.
Being Summer ready with Trekmates Flare Cap is ideal as the peaked cap is lightweight and has breathable mesh side panels, so I don’t need to worry about feeling too hot whilst wearing it.
This particular cap comes in three colour options, and as you all know, I wear a considerable amount of blue, so I opted for the navy version in a S/M fitting. The cap is elasticated at the back, I think this would be our only criticism, both myself and my thirteen-year-old son felt that the cap would have been better with some sort of size adjustment option.
One aspect that I really like with the Flare Cap, is the triple fold peak, something else I’d not seen before, and definitely something that makes this particular cap so much easier to pack when we’re going off on adventure. The UPF 40+ UV rating will make it a firm fixture during the summer months and especially when we’re in Spain in August.
I’ll be Summer ready with Trekmates Flare Cap, the wicking browband will ensure I don’t get sweaty and the cap is machine washable. The midge and mosquito-repellent outer fabric is guaranteed for at least five washes.
Now I just need to remind my teenager to get his own cap!
This looks perfect for the hot weather that we’ve had lately. I am buying myself a cap or hat of some sort when I go to town next as I have noticed the sun is lightening my hair and that’s not good when it was pink. lol x
Yes it’s been perfect in the heatwave!
