Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines

Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines – AD sent for review and giveaway

My nine-year-old son loves anything to do with engineering so the new Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines book from Quarto is just up his street.  The hardback book is aimed at children aged 7 years and over and looks at fifteen different vehicles spanning the centuries.

Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines

From an 18th century Galley ship to a 20th-century tunnel boring machine, there’s something for everyone to enjoy learning about.

Written by Pascale Hedelin, with illustrations from Lou Rihn, Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines gives children a factual presentation of each vehicle, how they were used and how people lived and worked in them.

My son has learned about RMS Titanic at school and it’s a vessel that’s always fascinated me.  In Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines, we get to see below deck.  I had no idea that it was the first ship to have its own heated swimming pool.

Tanks have also become a big thing here over the last year and my son loved all the information that the book provides on the different parts of the tank.

Who isn’t fascinated by space and the crafts that orbit the earth?

We’ve seen the Airbus A380 at Birmingham Airport and it’s massive.  One of my friends travels on it regularly to and from Dubai and it’s an aeroplane my son would love to fly aboard one day.

Supersize Cross Sections Inside Engines is an interesting read, and if you have a child who enjoys learning about facts, then this will be a good book for them to enjoy too.
