Twenty Four Days to Christmas

Twenty Four Days to Christmas – a book review

disclosure:  we are being sent this item in exchange for an honest review

I’m sharing a charming book with you today as part of a blog tour. Twenty Four Days to Christmas is written by Fred Arthur and is available in Kindle and Paperback form.  If you’re looking for a book to add to your Christmas themed collection or as part of a book advent, then this could be the book for you.

Twenty Four Days to Christmas

We meet Poppy, who is incredibly excited.  It’s the 1st December and she cannot wait for Christmas Day.  Her parents have to think of a way to keep her excitement contained in the build up to the big day.  So they come up with a range of daily festive activities.

From visiting somewhere new, Buckland Abbey, to making sparkly cards, Poppy was kept amused as she counted down the days to Christmas Day.  On Christmas Eve Poppy goes to her church nativity play, which is a little similar to the crib service that Monkey and I normally attend.  She has had such a busy few weeks, with lots happening to keep her entertained, how can it be Christmas Day already?

We’re waiting for our paperback copy of Twenty Four Days to Christmas to arrive at the moment, so have just looked through the pdf pages, so my review isn’t as comprehensive as it would normally be. I’m sure once we have the book and can read it properly together, Monkey will love it.  I certainly like the idea of a daily activity to keep children amused on the run up to the big day.

The author, Fred Arthur has also come up with a list of his favourite Christmas books – which would you add?

1. The Snowman – (watch this space for a giveaway for this book here tomorrow!)
2. A Visit From St Nicholas (The night before Christmas)
3. A Christmas Carol – Dickens
4. How the Grinch stole Christmas
5. The Father Christmas Letters J.R.R Tolkien
6. The Complete Father Christmas – Raymond Briggs
7. 101 Dalmatians – Dodie Smith
8. The Snow Queen
9. The Jolly Christmas Postman
10. The Elf on the Shelf
