If you like designer clothing at discounted prices then you may well have heard of Bicester Village, on the outskirts of Bicester in Oxfordshire. It can easily be reached by car, coach and train; there are direct coach services from London and a courtesy bus service runs from the train station.
We often visit the Clarks store at Bicester Village – great for getting Monkey’s ever-growing feet measured! He’s only ever worn Clarks shoes and it helps to get his shoes at a discounted price.
We were recently asked to review Bicester Village for Goodmans for an online guide to Oxford, and as part of that review we decided to take Monkey out for dinner at Villandry Grand Cafe, after buying his latest pair of sandals.
Villandry Grand Cafe is light and spacious and offers both indoor and outdoor dining options. We were really impressed, Monkey was made to feel really welcome, which always help me relax when we are eating out. The service, quality and price were all very good.
The tables were nicely spaced so you felt you could have a private eating experience. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and when we asked for items to arrive together for my son; there were no issues. We sat in the main room of the restaurant, but you could also sit in the conservatory area if you preferred.
We had a selection of rustic breads with butter, along with some garlic bread. For our main lunchtime meal we had pizza for my son, whilst the grown ups had Seabass (which was devine) and Roast Chicken. The deserts were equally wonderful – Warm Chocolate Brownie with ice cream and Pear and Raspberry Crumble with cream. The presentation was good and we will certainly be returning again.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and I thought it was reasonably priced. We’ll certainly go back to Villandry Grand Cafe at Bicester Village the next time Monkey needs more new shoes.
disclaimer: we were reimbursed for our meal, our comments still remain our own honest opinions.

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
That looks like a lovely place to eat, a great way to end your shopping trip.
