It’s no secret that we love our steam locomotives in this household, and my ten-year-old son has been lucky enough to ride behind a number of the most famous ones still running. One of these is the Flying Scotsman, which we saw at Didcot Railway Centre a while ago. Such a majestic machine, and a firm favourite here. I just knew that my son would love helping put the Watching 3D 500 piece jigsaw puzzle from Kidicraft together.
The Watching 3D 500 piece jigsaw puzzle is part of the Kevin Walsh Nostalgia Collection and depicts onlookers watching on as the Flying Scotsman thunders past.
The 3D lenticular printing really does bring the action in this image to life, although it doesn’t come through so well in my photographs.
It’s been a much easier puzzle for us to put together than the Hogwarts Express puzzle I shared with you last week. Helped by the brighter colours I think. The pieces fit well together and the reproduction of the picture works well.
You really do feel that the famous locomotive is steam out of the puzzle as you piece it together and it’s a jigsaw that we’ve enjoyed working on together. My ten year old could have completed this puzzle by himself but he wanted us to complete it together, which is a nice family activity.
Aimed at anyone aged 6 years and over, the Watching 3D 500 piece jigsaw puzzle has been great fun to complete and the 3D element has kept my son fascinated as the puzzle has come together. It gives added detail to the scene and has encouraged us to try other puzzles in the range.
